The couchpotato can sometimes be someone that has taken some time off from working too much, or they have simply retired. Working 40, 60 or even 80 hours per week can take over ones life, leaving little time for family or friends. Work, sleep, work sleep, but the other end of the spectrum can cause one to just LOAF around & become a big lump. Its always a matter of balance, some people want to or have to work almost every day, while others just want to work a few days a week. Some have really prepared well to retire in their 50s or 60s. Leisure time doesn't necessarily mean loafing around & collecting fat. Young & old, various people write, draw, sculpture & paint etc. There is a big spectrum between the couch potato & the workaholic, its up to each person to try to find where they want to be on the spectrum.
